18 December 1789: Cyprian Queen & visits

Friday… — This Morning write. At three go to Mr. de Moustiers to Dinner. He tells me that he has a Rendezvous with Mr. D’Oigny, the Intendant of the Post Office, on the Subject of Packets. From Mr. de Moustier’s I take Mr. Short to Club and go to the Louvre. Make my Offerings acceptable to the cyprian Queen and then go to Madame de Chastellux’s. Thence to Madame de Stahl’s and thence to sup at Mad[am]e de La Borde’s. While there amuse myself with reading the Memoires of Mons[ieu]r de Choiseul which have lately appeared. (…)
